This set features Carl Zeiss Jena 8x30 Deltrintem binoculars, serial number 1509353, renowned for their compact size and high magnification. The housings are marked with the elite secondary retailer mark of Josef Rodenstock Nachf. München, an association known for supplying luxury optics to officers and professionals in pre-war and wartime Germany. The clear optical glass shows only minor surface scratching. Both left and right focus adjustments are currently frozen due to aged lubricant, while hinge tension remains smooth. There are dents on the outside edges of the lens surrounds. Accompanied by the original leather neck strap and export-pattern 'Made in Germany' transport case measuring 13.3 cm H x 16.5 cm W (5.25" H x 6.5" W), the case shows a deep patina, surface staining, and age-related wear. The binoculars measure 10.8 cm H x 15.2 cm W (4.25" H x 6.0" W) and weigh 667 g (1 lb 7.5 oz).
