This color lithograph commemorates military service dedicated to Hermann Pflughöft in the 4th Company of the Prussian Garde-Füsilier Regiment ("4 Comp. Garde-Füsilier Regiment"). Titled "Mein Soldatenleben. Zur Erinnerung an meine Dienstzeit" ("MySoldier's Life. In Memory of My Service Time"), published by F. Schulze in Berlin ("Verlag von F. Schulze, Berlin N. Gerichts-Str. Nº 36"), signed lower left O. Fischer. The composition frames ten vignettes depicting soldierly duties—bayonet practice, target shooting, watch duty, field maneuvers, and social gatherings—surrounding an applied cabinet photo of the soldier in uniform. At the top sits a portrait of Kaiser Wilhelm II below Germania, and a banner reads "Wir Deutsche fürchten Gott, sonst Nichts auf dieser Welt!" ("We Germans fear God, nothing else in this world!"). The bottom panel shows cavalry on parade above the motto "Heil Kaiser Dir" ("Hail to Thee, Emperor"). The paper exhibits age toning along the margins. The steppedwooden frame with a gilded inner lip displays light surface wear and minor edge rubbing. Dimensions: H. 22-1/2 in. x W. 17-1/2 in. Image size: H. 19-1/2 in. x W. 14-1/2 in.
