Published by Cigaretten-Bilderdienst in Altona-Bahrenfeld in 1935, this original hardcover cigarette card album is titled Vom Werden deutscher Filmkunst, 2. Teil: Der Tonfilm (The Development of German Film Art, Part 2: The Sound Film) (101st to 160th thousand print run). Authored by Dr. Oskar Kalbus, the volume details the history and development of early German sound cinema. Bound in blue cloth with gilt Fraktur cover lettering and a central embossed circular frame featuring a color portrait of actor Otto Gebühr in historical costume, the interior contains German text printed in Fraktur alongside complete tipped-in color and monochrome photo card plates depicting iconic German films, actors, and directors, including Paula Wessely, Adolf Wohlbrück, Heinrich George, Jan Kiepura, and Brigitte Helm. The album measures 12.4 x 9.3 inches. Condition is consistent with age and light handling. Covers show minor edge rubbing, light corner bumping, and subtle surface scuffing. Interior pages remain firmly bound, clean, and complete with all photo cards present and faint age-appropriate paper toning near the upper title page margin.
