Near the end of the Franklin Half Dollar series, this 1963 issue features one of the most distinctive designs of mid-century American coinage. Struck in 90% silver, it contains approximately .3617 troy ounces of pure silver. The obverse portrays Benjamin Franklin, one of America's most influential Founding Fathers, while the reverse displays the Liberty Bell with a small eagle to the right. The Franklin Half Dollar was minted from 1948 through 1963, making this a final-year example of the series. A popular choice for collectors and silver enthusiasts, the 1963 Franklin Half Dollar combines historical significance, classic American imagery, and substantial silver content.
