Bearing the "D" mintmark of the Denver Mint, this 1939-D Walking Liberty Half Dollar is a classic example of pre-war American silver coinage. Struck in 90% silver, it contains approximately .3617 troy ounces of pure silver. Adolph A. Weinman's celebrated Walking Liberty design features Liberty moving toward the sunrise on the obverse, carrying branches of laurel and oak while wrapped in the American flag. The reverse showcases a powerful eagle perched on a rocky outcrop. Produced from 1916 through 1947, the Walking Liberty Half Dollar is one of America's most admired coin designs and remains popular with collectors and silver enthusiasts alike.
