Closing out the Franklin Half Dollar series, this 1963-D example was struck at the Denver Mint in the final year of production. Made of 90% silver, it contains approximately .3617 troy ounces of pure silver. Benjamin Franklin's portrait dominates the obverse, while the reverse features the Liberty Bell accompanied by the small eagle required by law. The Franklin Half Dollar series ran from 1948 to 1963, giving this coin added appeal as a final-year issue. An excellent choice for a Franklin Half Dollar collection, date-and-mintmark set, or vintage U.S. silver accumulation.
