Mid-century American silver is represented by this 1954-D Franklin Half Dollar, struck at the Denver Mint and carrying the classic Franklin design. Composed of 90% silver, the coin contains approximately .3617 troy ounces of pure silver. Benjamin Franklin's portrait appears on the obverse, while the reverse features the Liberty Bell and the small eagle positioned to its right. The Franklin Half Dollar series was minted from 1948 through 1963 and remains a popular collectible series among U.S. coin enthusiasts. The Denver mintmark adds another point of interest for collectors building complete date-and-mintmark sets.
