This 1962-D Franklin Half Dollar was struck at the Denver Mint and features Benjamin Franklin on the obverse, with the Liberty Bell prominently displayed on the reverse. A small eagle appears beside the bell, a required design element that was added to distinguish the coin from a commemorative issue. The Franklin Half Dollar was produced from 1948 through 1963 and was the last regular-issue U.S. half dollar series struck in 90% silver. The series honors Benjamin Franklin, one of America’s most influential Founding Fathers and a key figure in early American history. 90% Silver • .3617 Troy Oz Silver • 1962-D • Denver Mint • Franklin Half Dollar
