This collection comprises approximately 20 Edison Blue Amberol 4-minute cylinder records dating from the early 20th century, circa 1912 to 1929. These records are constructed from blue celluloid over a plaster core. The group includes avariety of early popular entertainment, notably several Uncle Josh comedy sketches by Cal Stewart, as well as popular songs, quartets, and hymns. Legible titles and catalog numbers embossed on the cylinder rims include 3115 Spagoni'sWedding Jubilee (B. Murray), 3019 Pretty Baby, 3081 The Honey Bee (Uncle Josh), 2830 The Opera at Pun'kin Center, 3504 Just a Baby's Prayer at Twilight, 3255 A Darkey's Oration on a Woman, 3065 Train Time at Pun'kin Center, 3409 Love,Honor, and Obey, 3936 Flanagan's Real Estate Deal, 3862 Uncle Josh and the Sailor, 3561 See Old Nelson (Moorman Smith), 3387 We're Going Over (Premier Quartet), 3382 I've Got My Captain Working for Me Now, 3600 Little Tommy Went A-Fishing,Media: Good to Very Good. The blue celluloid recording surfaces are generally well-preserved and appear free of significant mold or measles, though surface dust and light debris are present. Internal plaster cores show typical age-related wear.
