This group consists of approximately 20 vintage Edison phonograph cylinder records, primarily 4-minute Blue Amberol celluloid types produced by Thomas A. Edison, Inc. between 1912 and 1929. The collection features a variety of early20th-century recordings, including popular songs, quartets, and humorous sketches. Identified titles and artists from the upper beveled rim marks include: Uncle Josh's Huskin' Bee by Cal Stewart (1866), Hitchy Koo by Collins & Harlan(1605), Silent Night by Elizabeth Spencer, John Young, and Frederick Wheeler (1606), Webster's Speech in Reply to Hayne by Humphrey (1655), Town Topics of Pumpkin Center by Cal Stewart (1507), and La Paloma by Mary Carson (1751). The lotalso includes performances by Will Oakland, C.W. Harrison, and Porter & Harlan. The cylinders are housed in a mix of original Edison-branded lithographed cardboard tubes in blue/gold and orange/blue designs, along with one Edison GoldMedia: The blue celluloid cylinders visually appear to be in good condition with light surface dust.
