A collection of 15 early 20th-century Edison Blue Amberol phonograph cylinders. These 4-minute, 160 RPM records are manufactured from blue celluloid with a plaster core, intended for playback on Edison Amberola and compatible phonographmachines. The group encompasses a range of early recorded sound genres including military marches, comic monologues, and popular waltzes. Identified recordings include catalog number 2104 Stars and Stripes Forever March by Sousas Band,2124 Frisco Dan by Billy Murray, 1515 Put On Your Old Grey Bonnet by Phillips and Chorus, 2815 Cohen at the Telephone monologue, 2911 Aloha Oe Waltzes by Jaudas Society Orchestra, and 2380 Stick To Your Mother Tom by Will Oakland andChorus. Other titles include A Little Christmas Basket, Your Tiny Hand Is Frozen, and a handwritten Uncle Josh monologue titled War Talk at Punkin Center. The cylinders are accompanied by original cardboard storage tubes, several of whichMedia: The blue celluloid surfaces are generally well-preserved, displaying minor dust and surface handling marks consistent with age.
