A collection of twenty vintage Edison Blue Amberol cylinder records, manufactured by Thomas A. Edison, Incorporated between circa 1912 and 1925. These records consist of blue celluloid outer sleeves over plaster-filled cores. Thecollection includes a diverse variety of early 20th-century genres such as popular songs, orchestral waltzes, novelty sketches, whistling solos, and sacred music. Each record is housed in its original orange and grey cardboard canisterfeaturing a portrait of Thomas Edison and printed patent information dating from 1906 and 1911. The visible titles and catalog numbers stamped into the cylinder rims include: 1620 Venus Waltz by Orchestra; 2398 Call Me Your Darling Againby Elizabeth Spencer; 2646 Laughing Love (Whistling Solo) by C. Crawford Gorst; 2715 The Birds and the Brook by American Symphony Orchestra; 2798 Abide With Me by Elizabeth Spencer; 3452 Just As Your Mother Was; 3549 Bring Me A Letter FromMedia grades generally Good to Very Good. The celluloid surfaces show light scuffing, surface grime, and dust. Several cylinders exhibit material loss or chipping at the top or bottom rims.
