Armand Marseille 370 antique bisque head shoulder plate doll featuring weighted blue glass sleep eyes with painted upper and lower lashes and feathered brows. The head is constructed with an open mouth containing four inset porcelain upper teeth and a dimpled chin, topped with a curly blonde mohair wig. The doll utilizes a cream-colored gusseted kid leather body with bisque lower arms and hands, articulated at the hips and knees with metal rivet joints. The multicomponent period attire includes a pink silk-style dress with a lace-front bib and trim, a matching pink bonnet with silk ribbon and artificial floral accents, white cotton undergarments consisting of a slip and lace-trimmed pantaloons, knitted stockings, and pink leather shoes with bead detailing. The shoulder plate is incised with the marks Armand Marseille, 370, and A. 2. M. Height: 20 inches. The doll is in overall good condition, exhibiting significant age-related deterioration to the kid leather body, notably a large open tear at the right shoulder and scattered surface staining. The bisque head and limbs are free of cracks, chips, or repairs.
