This German bisque socket head doll was produced by Simon & Halbig for Heinrich Handwerck and features mold number 109 on a fully jointed composition and wood body. The head is detailed with blue glass sleep eyes, an open mouth with four upper teeth, feathered eyebrows, and pierced ears. It comes dressed in a period-style white cotton lawn gown with lace inserts and ruffles, accompanied by a detached reddish-brown wig. The body bears the original red Heinrich Handwerck stamp on the hip. Height: 21 inches. The bisque head is well-preserved with no visible hairlines, while the composition body shows expected age-related wear including surface loss at the joints and typical crazing. The sleep eye mechanism remains functional despite some wax loss to the lids.
