An Armand Marseille mold 390n German bisque socket head doll featuring brown glass sleep eyes with original real-hair upper lashes, feathered eyebrows, and an open mouth with four inset upper teeth. The doll is mounted on a fully jointed composition and wood body and wears a non-original red plaid ensemble with a vintage replacement black wig, white cotton undergarments, and black patent leather style shoes. Marks on the reverse of the head include Made in Germany, Armand Marseille, 390n, DRGM 246/1, and A. 10. M. 26 inches. The bisque head remains in good overall condition with only typical minor surface scuffs to the nose and cheeks. The composition and wood body exhibits characteristic wear, paint loss, and crazing expected with age, featuring some localized gesso reinforcements to the joints.
