This group of antique German dolls consists of a JDK 211 character baby with a bisque socket head and sleep eyes alongside an unmarked baby with eyes stuck closed. The collection also includes an 11-inch baby featuring an open head and a larger doll signed M. Saxton identified as a recreated doll. Each figure is constructed with a bisque head paired with a mix of composition, cloth, or celluloid bodies and limbs. JDK 211: 16 inches Unmarked baby: 15 inches Open head baby:11 inches M. Saxton signed doll: 19.5 inches. The dolls exhibit age-appropriate wear including surface dust, scattered composition cracks, and some paint loss to the limbs. One doll has a missing crown, one has a repaired crack in the lips, while another has eyes that are fallen or stuck, and general staining is present on the vintage textiles.
