Offered is a 1958 U.S. Proof Set, featuring five classic Proof coins struck at the Philadelphia Mint. The set includes a Lincoln Wheat Cent, Jefferson Nickel, Roosevelt Dime, Washington Quarter, and Franklin Half Dollar. Please review the photos for the exact packaging and condition of the coins included. The 1958 Proof Set is especially desirable because it marks the final year of the Lincoln Wheat Cent reverse. Beginning in 1959, the Wheat reverse was replaced by the Lincoln Memorial design. Approximately 875,652 Proof Sets were produced in 1958. The Roosevelt Dime, Washington Quarter, and Franklin Half Dollar included in the set were struck in 90% silver, giving the complete set approximately 0.6148 troy ounces of silver. The coins were originally packaged together in a flat cellophane pack with a U.S. Mint Philadelphia seal and mailing envelope.
