Offered is a 1999 Susan B. Anthony Proof Dollar accompanied by its Certificate of Authenticity and original U.S. Mint display box. The coin features a sharp Proof finish with mirrored fields and frosted design details. Please review the photos for the exact condition of the coin, box, and included paperwork. The Susan B. Anthony Dollar was first issued in 1979 and returned for one final year in 1999. It honors Susan B. Anthony, a prominent advocate for women's suffrage, and was the first U.S. circulating coin to feature a non-fictional woman. The obverse bears Anthony's portrait, while the reverse features an eagle landing on the Moon, based on the Apollo 11 insignia. The 1999 Proof Susan B. Anthony Dollar was struck at the Philadelphia Mint and carries a "P" mint mark. Unlike the earlier Proof issues, the 1999 Proof was sold individually rather than being included in the regular 1999 Proof Set. The U.S. Mint offered the coin in a blue gift box for $8.95, with estimated production of only 750,000 pieces, making it the lowest-mintage Proof issue of the Susan B. Anthony Dollar series.
