1922-D Lincoln Cent, struck at the Denver Mint. This is an important early Lincoln Wheat Cent and the only Lincoln Cent date struck in 1922, making it a particularly interesting issue for collectors. Please review the photos for the exact condition, color, surfaces, and mint-mark strength. The 1922-D had a mintage of only 7,160,000 coins. It is well known for its weak and sometimes nearly missing “D” mint mark, caused by die damage and clogging. This led to the famous 1922 No D varieties, which are substantially more valuable than a standard 1922-D. Collectors should carefully examine the mint mark when attributing this issue. The coin was designed by Victor David Brenner and struck in 95% copper and 5% tin and zinc. It weighs approximately 3.11 grams, measures about 19 mm, and has a plain edge.
