A print on board reproduction depicting a traditional Dutch street scene, signed P. J. v Berkel in the lower right corner. The composition represents the Zuiderspui in Enkhuizen, with the Drommedaris tower and a wooden drawbridge as central features. The scene is populated with various figures, including labourers loading a horse-drawn cart and pedestrians. The work is mounted on a plywood panel and presented in a substantial, ornate gilded frame in the Rococo style, featuring shell and scroll motifs. The verso of the panel displays handwritten inventory numbers and brown paper tape edging. Approximate dimensions measured against a tape measure: Frame H 57.2 cm x W 65.7 cm. Condition: The print surface exhibits an overall network of fine craquelure. The image remains stable and well-adhered to the board. The gilded frame shows minor surface wear, slight rubbing, and small losses to the ornamentation consistent with age. The plywood backing is intact with some minor tape residue.
