A single 19th-century print on board after the artist Brindoldi, depicting a traveller family resting in a wide mountainous landscape under a hazy sky. The central composition features a woman holding an infant, flanked by three older children, one of whom holds a tambourine. The group is gathered near a small campfire emitting smoke on the right. The work is executed in a mid-19th-century European genre style, characterised by its romanticised rural subject matter and atmospheric perspective. The print surface exhibits a heavy craquelure and textured finish intended to simulate the appearance of an oil painting. It is signed and dated in the lower right corner BRINDOLDI 1863. The piece is housed in a giltwood and gesso frame with foliate scroll corner accents. The reverse of the frame features pencil inscriptions, including the name Mallory and 2 1/2 Carved Frame, and is secured with a secondary board backing. Dimensions (measured against a ruler, inches scale shown): Frame H 27.5 in x W 33.5 in; Image (sight) H 18 in x W 24 in. Condition: The item is in fair condition with widespread and pronounced craquelure throughout the surface of the print. There is a visible accumulation of surface dirt and an aged, yellowed varnish. A distinct star-shaped area of surface loss or scraping is present in the lower right quadrant near the fire. The giltwood frame shows minor losses and cracks to the gesso, particularly at the corners and edges, consistent with age.
