This work is a multicoloured copper etching on silk by the Viennese artist George Holzer, being a detailed reproduction of the 16th-century masterpiece The Peasant Wedding by Pieter Bruegel the Elder. The piece displays the fine line work of the copper etching process, with a clear plate mark visible surrounding the central image. Hand-applied aniline dyes provide a rich and varied palette, particularly in the garments of the central figures. The work is pencil-signed by the artist in the lower right margin as G Holzer. It is presented in a silver-gilt frame with a cream mat. The reverse bears a gallery label from The Tremellen Gallery detailing the artist's hand-etching and dyeing process, noting that editions rarely exceed three impressions. A handwritten note on the reverse indicates a purchase date of 19 December 1980. Condition: The silk substrate exhibits characteristic light undulation typical of the medium. The impression remains sharp, and the print appears free of foxing, significant toning, or tears. The silver-gilt frame shows minor surface wear and small losses to the edges.
