Käfferlein Mü., Watercolour and Gouache

A watercolour painting with gouache highlights signed Käfferlein Mü., depicting a traditional Alpine lakeside village with a prominent church spire and chalets reflected in the water, set against a mountainous backdrop. The work is executed in a soft, atmospheric style on heavily textured cream paper. The painting is housed in a dark wooden frame with a double mat comprising a textured cream outer layer and a narrow gilt inner fillet. The reverse of the frame retains a retail label for Seville Art and Supplies of Kitchener, Ontario. Signed Käfferlein Mü. in the lower-left corner. Dimensions: approx. H 59.7 cm x W 44.1 cm (external frame dimensions, measured against a tape measure). Condition: The paper exhibits light overall toning and a few faint foxing spots are visible in the sky area, in a rectangular area. The wooden frame shows minor surface scuffs and wear to the edges. The matting appears in good condition.
