An oil on board painting by Vito Perona depicting a North African village scene. The composition features whitewashed buildings with rounded domes and arched doorways, typical of the region, set against a pale blue sky. Several figures in traditional robes are shown in the foreground and near the structures, rendered with gestural brushstrokes. The work is executed in an impressionistic style with prominent impasto and heavy texture, particularly in the architectural details. Signed P PERONA in the lower right corner with a stylised vertical monogram. The painting is housed in a wide, ornate gilded frame with moulded scroll and rope-patterned borders. Dimensions (framed): H 45.7 cm x W 81.9 cm. Condition: Fine craquelure is visible across the paint surface, most notably in the sky and the white areas of the buildings. There is some minor surface accumulation and dust. The gilded frame shows light age-related wear, including minor scuffs and small losses to the moulded detail. The wooden support board is secured to the frame with silver tape on the reverse.
