AVAILABLE for SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > Exceptionally large and substantial Rowoco U.S.A. hardwood rolling pin measuring 24" long overall, with a 15" rolling cylinder, 4-1/2" handles at each end and a 3" diameter roller. Weighing an impressive 3-1/4 lbs, the heavy construction was intended for sustained bakery, restaurant or other commercial kitchen work. The thick cylindrical hardwood roller provides greater weight and downward pressure than an ordinary household rolling pin, allowing large quantities of bread, pastry, pie or biscuit dough to be flattened with less applied force. The independently held end handles permit the central roller to revolve across the dough while the baker maintains control through repeated passes over a broad work surface. One end is embossed ROWOCO ~ U.S.A. Rowoco marketed an extensive assortment of professional and specialty kitchen tools during the later 20th century, including commercial utensils, pastry equipment, cutlery and baking accessories. A documented Rowoco rolling pin of closely related construction has a 12-1/2" roller, 3" diameter and 5" handles, confirming that the company offered oversized American hardwood rolling pins in this professional format. The unusually long 15" roller, substantial 3" diameter and considerable weight distinguish this example from lighter domestic rolling pins and make the form particularly suited to bakery production, institutional food preparation or frequent heavy household baking.
