SILVER GUILD ENGLAND GEORGIAN Plated SOUP LADLE

AVAILABLE for SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > Mid 20th century English silverplated soup or serving ladle measuring 12-1/2" long, with a deep oval bowl measuring approximately 4" × 3-1/4" and 1-1/4" deep. The ladle presents a restrained Georgian inspired form with a long gently arched stem, broad rounded terminal and deep substantial bowl suited to serving soup, stew, punch or similar contents from a tureen or large communal vessel. A raised support or rest appears beneath the upper handle, allowing the terminal to remain elevated when placed upon a table. The reverse of the handle carries the quartered SG ~ ENGLAND trademark of Silver Guild, a trade name used by Kirk’s Ltd. of Sheffield. Documented examples bearing this mark are generally identified as English silverplate dating from approximately the 1950s. The same Silver Guild line included reproduction serving pieces based upon Georgian and 18th century English forms. CONDITION REPORT > As discovered, not cleaned or polished.
