Vintage ANCHOR HOCKING CANFIELD CAKE STAND & COVER

NO SHIPPING ~ LOCAL PICKUP ONLY > Vintage Anchor Hocking clear glass covered pedestal cake stand in the Canfield pattern, featuring a broad serving plate, raised pedestal base and matching domed cover topped by a rounded ball finial. The cake plate is molded with a dramatic central starburst surrounded by alternating diamond point panels and long radiating flutes extending toward the outer rim. The pedestal repeats the faceted design, creating additional brilliance as light passes through the substantial clear glass. The tall dome provides ample interior space for displaying and protecting cakes, pies, pastries, cookies or other desserts. The Canfield pattern is recognized by the combination of a deeply molded starburst center, geometric diamond panels and radiating linear cuts. Matching documented Anchor Hocking examples are identified as Canfield starburst and diamond pattern cake stands. Now discontinued, this Anchor Hocking pressed glass pattern was produced during the later 20th century, with documented examples generally attributed to the 1960s and later decades.
