AVAILABLE for SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > A complete United States Postal Service pane of fifty 20 cent commemorative stamps honoring the official bird and flower of every state, custom matted and framed. preserved under glass. The visible presentation measures 13-3/4" by 12". Issued April 14, 1982, in Washington, D.C., the sheet presents all fifty states in individual perforated designs, arranged alphabetically from Alabama through Wyoming. Each stamp names the state and illustrates the official bird together with the corresponding state flower. The designs were created by noted wildlife artist Arthur Singer and his son Alan Singer, with Peter Cocci serving as modeler. The complete pane forms a particularly colorful example of American postal art, combining ornithology, botany and state history within a single unified issue. Arthur Singer was widely recognized for natural history illustration, while the collaboration with Alan Singer translated detailed bird and flower studies into the miniature format required for postage stamps. Presented beneath glass within a gold tone molded frame and broad muted rose mat. The reverse retains an illustrated article discussing the creation of the series and the work of Arthur and Alan Singer. A label from The Snoop Shop Custom Framing, Centreville, Mississippi, is affixed to the backing.
