AVAILABLE for SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > Pair of substantial Tiffin Franciscan clear pressed-glass torte plates in the Williamsburg Pressed pattern, each measuring 14-1/4" in diameter and weighing 3-3/4 lbs. Each broad circular plate rises gently from the center toward the outer edge and rests upon a low central pedestal. The deeply molded geometric pattern presents a central radiating starburst medallion surrounded by repeating diamond, petal and star forms, creating a highly reflective surface across the heavy clear glass. The form is officially cataloged as the 14" Torte Plate, although documented measurements place the actual diameter at 14-1/4" and some individual examples are measured slightly larger. The plate carries Tiffin Franciscan piece code CTOP14 and was produced in the United States as part of the discontinued Williamsburg Pressed collection. Dating to approximately 1969 to 1979, the plates were produced during the period when Tiffin Glass was owned by Interpace and glassware was marketed in association with Franciscan tableware. The unusually large diameter, considerable weight and low elevated form make the plates suitable for cakes, tortes, pastries, hors d’oeuvres or centerpiece presentation.
