NO SHIPPING ~ LOCAL PICKUP ONLY > Vintage French industrial wine-storage cage by Rigidex Déposé, dating to the mid-20th century, measuring approximately 45" H x 22" W x 15" D and accommodating up to 50 standard wine bottles. Constructed in dark-painted steel, the tall rectangular enclosure features riveted strap-metal framing, diagonal corner bracing and shaped horizontal wire cradles that support bottles on their sides in ten vertical columns. Horizontal storage keeps the cork in contact with the wine while allowing the labels and bottle necks to remain readily visible. The full-height front door is hinged along the right side and secured at the left by the original sliding latch marked RIGIDEX DÉPOSÉ, with additional round knobs positioned along the door stile. The open cage construction provides ventilation while the lockable enclosure reflects the rack’s original commercial or cellar-storage purpose. Brackets along the rear and sides allow the structure to be anchored securely to a wall. Rigidex produced practical French metal wine racks and storage cages in numerous capacities for restaurants, wine merchants and private cellars. Surviving 50-bottle examples are generally identified as French mid-century industrial furnishings dating to the 1940s–1950s. CONDITION REPORT > Presents with an aged dark-painted finish. A notably well preserved example, having been wall mounted.
