Vintage MILITARY SOLDIER FOOT LOCKER STORAGE TRUNK

NO SHIPPING ~ LOCAL PICKUP ONLY > Measuring 30" W x 17" D x 12" H, this vintage mid-20th-century military foot locker is constructed of wood with an olive-drab painted exterior, riveted metal edge reinforcement, protective corner mounts and a hinged lid. The utilitarian rectangular form was designed for storing and transporting a service member’s clothing and personal effects in barracks, camps and during reassignment. Faded period lettering and identification numbers remain visible across the lid, front and sides, including remnants of a name and partially legible San Francisco-related lettering. The worn stenciling, layered paint and original hardware contribute to the trunk’s authentic military character. The front retains one functional draw latch. The larger locking hasp does not presently engage, and no key is included. The leather side handholds are heavily deteriorated and incomplete. The underside has notable condition issues, including extensive splitting and separation of the wood, associated losses and an older darkened patch or repair. The olive-drab painted interior contains remnants of old newspaper lining. CONDITION REPORT > Specific functional and structural condition issues are noted above. Additional generalized wear includes accumulated dust, surface oxidation, paint loss, scratches, scuffs and fading consistent with substantial age and use.
