AVAILABLE for SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > A coordinated Italian pewter cordial service comprising -5- stemmed cordial cups and -6- matching saucers. Each cordial stands approximately 3.25" tall and measures approximately 2" in diameter across the flared rim. Each saucer measures approximately 4.5" in diameter, with a slightly raised flared border and a circular depression at the center corresponding with the foot of the cordial stem. The undersides bear a circular lion touchmark above the letters ~ CT ~ together with a separate boxed ~ 95 ~ quality mark. The lion represents Brescia, Italy, a historic center of Italian pewter production. The letters ~ CT ~ identify Cosi Tabellini, formed from the surnames of founders Bruno Cosi and Sergio Tabellini, while ~ 95 ~ indicates an alloy containing approximately 95 percent tin. Cosi Tabellini states that this modern pewter composition is lead free. Cosi Tabellini began producing handcrafted pewter in Lombardy in 1954 and developed into a multigenerational Italian workshop recognized for traditional casting, hand finishing, and tableware based upon historic European forms. The elegant bell shaped cordial bowls, slender knopped stems, circular feet, and fitted saucers reflect that revivalist approach to Italian dining and serving pieces. Suitable for serving cordials, liqueurs, aperitifs, digestifs, or ceremonial toasts, the individual saucers may also serve as small coasters or presentation plates.
