AVAILABLE for SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > Standing just over 3 inches tall, measuring 5.75 inches in diameter and weighing a substantial 1-1/4 pounds, a hand-thrown studio pottery bowl with a heavy rounded form and richly layered high-gloss reactive drip glaze. The surface combines warm russet and copper-brown tones with flowing cream, teal and deep blue accents, while areas of exposed textured clay create an abstract, almost lava-like pattern across the exterior and interior. The underside carries the name LISA incised in script within the recessed base. Reactive and drip glazes are created when multiple glaze components move, overlap and change during firing, producing irregular runs, color breaks and pooled areas that differ from one vessel to another. The combination of glossy flowing glaze, exposed clay and substantial stoneware construction gives this bowl strong appeal as American studio pottery, abstract ceramic art, artisan stoneware and mid-century-inspired decorative pottery. Despite diligent research, the signature has not been conclusively attributed to a specific potter or pottery. The work is therefore identified only by the incised name LISA rather than assigning an unsupported maker.
