AVAILABLE for SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > Standing 4.25 inches tall with a 4-inch overall diameter across the ruffled top, a vintage Fenton Art Glass Aqua Crest vase featuring a smooth, glossy white milk-glass body, tapered form and rounded pedestal base. The dramatically crimped rim is finished with an applied band of transparent aqua-blue glass, creating the distinctive colored crest associated with this Fenton line. An exact-form comparison located online matches the same 4.25-inch height, flared ruffle, body profile and footed base. Fenton called this white-and-blue color combination Aqua Crest. The line was produced during 1940–1942 and again from 1948–1953, with milk glass forming the body and blue glass applied along the edge. The absence of a molded Fenton logo is consistent with production from this earlier period, since Fenton did not begin routinely marking glass with the oval company logo until decades later. Founded in 1905, Fenton Art Glass became one of America’s best-known producers of handmade decorative glass. Crest glass required an additional application of contrasting molten glass along the rim, followed by hand shaping to produce the pronounced waves and folds. The compact scale, luminous white body and vivid aqua crest give this example appeal as vintage Fenton glass, mid-century American art glass, milk glass décor and a small flower or display vase.
