Early STERLING SPOON RING by INTERNATIONAL SILVER

AVAILABLE for SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > A small adjustable sterling silver spoon ring, likely suited for a young girl, fashioned from the decorative handle of an International Sterling flatware utensil. The broad upper band carries a raised floral and scroll motif, while the overlapping wraparound construction allows limited adjustment. Marked INTERNATIONAL STERLING to the underside and presented with a red heart-shaped jewelry box. International Silver Company was formed in Meriden, Connecticut, in 1898 through the consolidation of several established American silver manufacturers. The company became one of the leading producers of sterling silver and silver-plated flatware in the United States, creating hundreds of decorative patterns for formal dining and household use. Spoon rings were made by bending the ornate handles of flatware into wearable bands, allowing the original silverwork and pattern decoration to be preserved in a new form. They became especially popular during the 1960s and 1970s as handcrafted and repurposed jewelry gained favor, though examples were produced both earlier and later. Small rings of this nature were often formed from teaspoons, demitasse spoons or child-sized flatware, making them suitable for a young girl or a particularly small finger.
