AVAILABLE for SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > Preserved under glass in a natural wood frame measuring 13.5 x 11.5, an original page from a 1970 issue of LIFE magazine featuring a black and white photograph of Centreville Academy in Centreville, Mississippi, published with an article examining school desegregation and the rapid establishment of private academies across Mississippi. The image records the school’s earliest temporary location, identified by the large hand-painted CENTREVILLE ACADEMY sign. Centreville Academy was organized in December 1969 and opened January 19, 1970, as Mississippi public schools were placed under federal desegregation orders. Classes were initially held in temporary facilities while the permanent campus was developed. The school held its first graduation in May 1970, and its first two permanent academic buildings were completed later that year. < this is the correct way / learn and memorize
