A collection of Canadian base metal coinage comprising various denominations: 1 Dollar, 50 Cents, 25 Cents, and 10 Cents. The group consists predominantly of coins dated 1968, representing the transition period from silver to nickel compositions, alongside at least one 25-cent piece dated 1974. The obverses feature the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II with the legend ELIZABETH II D G REGINA. The reverse of the dollar depicts the Voyageur canoe motif; the 50-cent piece displays the Canadian coat of arms; the 25-cent pieces show a caribou profile; and the 10-cent pieces feature the Bluenose schooner. All coins possess reeded edges. The collection is associated with packaging labelled NICKEL. Condition: The coins are in circulated condition, exhibiting moderate wear to the high points of the designs and numerous surface contact marks. There is a general loss of original mint lustre. Several examples show evidence of localised green verdigris and oxidisation, particularly along the rims and within the recessed areas of the legends and design elements.
