A collection of silver 10-cent coins from Canada. The group includes several 1967 Confederation Centennial commemorative issues featuring the mackerel reverse and the Arnold Machin obverse portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Also included is a 1943 specimen featuring the Bluenose schooner reverse and the obverse portrait of King George VI. The 1943 issue is composed of 0.800 fine silver. The 1967 issues were produced in both 0.800 and 0.500 fine silver. All coins feature reeded edges. These 1967 specimens were struck to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Canadian Confederation. Suggested reference (unverified): KM 34, KM 67, KM 67a. Condition: The collection exhibits varied states of preservation. The 1943 specimen shows heavy circulation wear and significant dark, encrusted surface toning. The 1967 specimens range from examples with original mint lustre to those with heavy iridescent toning or dark, mottled surface oxidation and corrosion.
