A pair of CA silver 50-cent coins comprising one example dated 1962 and one dated 1964. Struck in 80% silver, these coins feature the laureate head portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse and the Canadian coat of arms on the reverse. The obverse bears the legend ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA. The reverse includes the inscriptions CANADA, 50 CENTS, the respective date, and the motto A MARI USQUE AD MARE. Both pieces have reeded edges. These examples represent the final decade of the 80% silver half-dollar series in Canada. Condition: The 1964 specimen is in very fine condition with heavy dark peripheral toning and tarnish; visible surface wear is present. The 1962 specimen is in uncirculated condition, retaining original mint lustre with light golden-brown toning and scattered minor contact marks. Neither coin shows evidence of professional cleaning.
