This porcelain and pewter beer stein features hand-painted scenes of the Berlin cityscape and military engineers at work along the Spree River, commemorating the service of Pioneer Alfred Becker in the Garde-Pionier-Bataillon, 1st Company, Berlin, from 1906 to 1908. The lid is topped by a detailed pewter figure of a pioneer holding an anchor and shovel, with a heraldic eagle as the thumb lift. The body includes regimental rosters, personalized dedication, and a photographic lithophane of a soldier and woman on the inside bottom of the stein. The stein shows visible repairs to the handle and rim, with some loss to the upper rim. measures 12.25" tall and 13" diameter. PM
