This lidded beer stein features a porcelain body and pewter lid, commemorating service in the 3rd Eskadron, Royal Bavarian 6th Chevaulegers Regiment Prince Albrecht of Prussia, stationed in Bayreuth and Neumarkt. Dated 1903-1906, the stein displays detailed polychrome transfers of cavalrymen in parade and engagement scenes, with regiment names, service dates, and the personal name Chevauleger Anton Kampe in gothic script. The pewter lid depicts a mounted cavalryman finial and embossed regimental insignia. The lithophane base reveals a portrait of an officer when held to light. The metal miniature soldier belonging on top of the lid accompanies the stein (and can be repaired). Measures 10" tall and 12" diameter. Period script and inclusion of a full regiment roster illustrate its original commemorative and ceremonial function. Surface wear and markings consistent with age are visible. PM
