This lidded beer stein features a detailed hand-painted scene commemorating a soldier's service in the 4th Company, Leibgarde Infantry Regiment 1, Grand Duchy of Hesse, Regiment No. 115, Darmstadt, with the years 1909-1911 inscribed at the base. The body depicts soldiers in uniform, a regimental monument, and portraits framed by crests. The lid is topped with a molded figure of a soldier standing with a lion and inscribed with regimental and commemorative texts. Additional details include a pewter thumb lift in the form of a crowned lion and a relief handle. The stein is constructed from porcelain and pewter, standing 12 inches tall and 12.5" diameter.
