Produced in 1937, this German commemorative day badge (Tinnie) was issued for the National Veterans' Day (Reichskriegertag) gathering held in Kassel. Struck in gray pot metal or zinc alloy, the obverse features a high-relief figure of a helmeted soldier in motion throwing a stick grenade, bordered by the perimeter inscription "REICHSKRIEGERTAG KASSEL 1937". Stamped along the lower reverse edge is the maker mark for Carl Poellath of Schrobenhausen. Demonstrating age-consistent surface patina, the badge shows moderate handling wear, loss of original finish, and light metal oxidation. The original pinback mounting hardware is absent from the reverse, leaving a streak of aged yellow adhesive residue across the center face. Dimensions: Measures approximately 1.4 inches (35 mm) in diameter. Featuring a dynamic military motif, this early wartime veterans' badge provides a nice addition for collectors of German event pins and day badges. BP
