This Soviet Navy cadet beshkozyrka (peakless cap) was manufactured in 1971 by the Kalinin Headwear Factory and issued for wear by students of a Higher Naval Engineering School (Vy`sshee Inzh. Uchilishhe VMF). Constructed of black wool with white piping, the cap retains its original black tally ribbon with gold Cyrillic lettering and gold anchor devices on the ribbon tails. The front displays the standard red enamel Soviet star cockade, while the interior is factory stamped with the Kalinin maker's mark, 1971, and size 56, or a US size 7. The cap remains in excellent condition with a clean interior, crisp ribbon lettering, and only light signs of age and handling, making it a fine example of a Cold War Soviet naval cadet headdress. PM
