This East German Navy (Volksmarine) dark navy blue wool visor cap (Schirmmütze) was originally issued to enlisted/NCO personnel and subsequently modified with admiral-style insignia additions. The interior liner features original "NVA 58 1856 C" factory stamps (size 58, produced in 1983 by VEB Perfekt Berlin). The cap has been upgraded with an applied gilt oak-leaf visor trim and a gilt officer-style aluminum wreath cockade, retained with its standard black chin strap and naval buttons. The piece is in good vintage condition overall, serving as a representative display or reenactment cap. PM
