This East German National People's Army (Nationale Volksarmee / NVA) officer visor cap (Schirmmütze) is constructed from stone-grey wool cloth with white piping (Waffenfarbe) along the crown and band, denoting the Infantry / Motorized Rifle Troops (Mot-Schützen). It features an aluminum officer's oak-leaf wreath cockade centered with the East German state emblem (hammer, compass, and rye wreath), a braided silver bullion chinstrap secured by silver pebbled buttons, and a glossy black visor. The interior lining is stamped under a clear sweat diamond with "NVA 55 1856 Y" (size 55; letter code Y indicating production in 1988). The cap is in excellent vintage condition with clean wool, intact insignia, and minor wear to the sweatband liner. PM
