Featured is a WWI Imperial German enlisted mans field cap (Krätzchen) belonged to the light infantry (Jäger / Schützen) branch of the military, identified by its green wool cap band and white piping. Constructed from grey-green (Graugrün) wool cloth, it features white piping along the crown top and a single black and white state cockade mounted on the band. The interior is lined with natural cream cotton twill fabric and is ink-stamped 57 for size alongside a faded rectangular issue mark. The cap is in very good antique condition, showing minor fabric soil on the interior lining while retaining bold exterior cloth color and solid structural integrity. PM
