Two standard issue East German People's Police officer visor caps produced during the immediate post-war period, 1945-1950, for the Volkspolizei under the Ministry of Interior. Both caps are constructed of dark blue wool fabric and feature carmine piping, designating officer rank. Each cap retains the original black plastic visor and is outfitted with a stiff artificial leather sweatband, as typical of these postwar Cold War era examples. One cap is complete with the stamped metal front insignia, while the other is missing its insignia. Both inner liners are marked with "MdI" labels and size indicators, being approximately size 55 and 61. The caps display some light storage wear consistent with age.
