This is a beautiful antique German bisque-head character toddler doll made by Porzellanfabrik Schoenau & Hoffmeister in the 1920s. The hard-to-find 914 mold number, along with "Germany" and head size "9," are incised on the head's back. The doll has an expressive bisque face with finely molded details, painted brows and lashes, rosy cheeks, open mouth with molded upper teeth, and blue weighted glass eyes beneath a wavy blonde wig. The head is attached to a jointed bent-limb composition body, allowing seated display. Dressed in a sheer white vintage ruffled dress with blue embroidered trim and a blue satin ribbon, this doll shows notable condition wear: paint loss and wear on body and limbs, minor soiling to composition, paint chips on toes and fingers, and some soiling to clothing. No observed cracks to the bisque head. Seated the doll is 12 inches. **Shipping Notice: Due to the delicate nature of the doll's sleep eye mechanism, any shipped doll will arrive with the wig and skull cap removed, and the eyes secured to help minimize the risk of damage during transit. Please expect this if you require shipping. Because of the additional time and care required to prepare the doll for safe shipment, an additional handling fee may apply. These dolls are exceptionally fragile, and while we take the greatest care in packing and securing every item, shipping always carries an inherent risk. By requesting shipping, you acknowledge and accept the possibility of damage that may occur during transit.
