This antique German character toddler doll, manufactured circa 1916 by Hertel, Schwab & Co. for Louis Wolf & Company, features mold number 152 and size mark 10 inscribed on the bisque head. The expressive face includes chubby cheeks, a double chin, and an open mouth with two upper teeth, complemented by inset sleepy glass eyes, hand-painted lashes and brows, and a blonde mohair wig. The tinted bisque porcelain head is affixed to a fully articulated composition toddler body. The doll wears a sewn-on vibrant red velvet suit with shorts, buttoned jacket, lace collar, and a large dusty rose bow. The head shows excellent preservation with minor surface marks; composition hands display wear, surface soiling, and paint loss, especially at the fingertips; feet have some scattered paint loss and minor scuffs consistent with age.
